Students enrolled in programs at Malatya Turgut Özal University where the language of instruction is entirely (100%) foreign language are subject to compulsory preparatory education. These students are subject to a Foreign Language Proficiency Exam administered by the School of Foreign Languages' Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the beginning of the academic year in which they enroll. Students who pass the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam are exempt from the compulsory foreign language preparatory class and begin their program. Students who fail these exams are placed in the compulsory foreign language preparatory class and continue their one-year English preparatory program.
